Real Estate Taxes are based on your assessed value generated by York County Assessment Office (717-771-9232) and the tax rate is determined by the elected officials of each taxing district.
As a resident and/or property owner of West Manheim Township, you are taxed by three taxing districts:
✓ County of York
✓ West Manheim Township
✓ South Western School District
York County and West Manheim Township tax bills are combined and issued in February, payable at discount by April 15.
South Western School District tax bills are issued in July, payable at discount by Sept 30 (the school offers an installment payment method)
Payment of tax bills is the taxpayer’s responsibility.
Escrow Account: If you have an escrow account and receive a real estate tax bill, please forward the bill to your mortgage company for payment.
Interim Tax: If you obtain a building permit for an improvement to your property, you will receive an interim real estate bill due to the increase in assessed value.
The taxes levied by the taxing districts are allowed by PA State Laws.
All current year bills must be paid in full by December 31st of each year. Personal or business checks will not be accepted after 12/15/2026 as they do not have time to clear. Money orders or certified checks will be received by 12/31. If bills are not paid, they will be forwarded to York County Tax Claim for collection.
